Richmond University Medical Center
Richmond University Medical Center originated as St. Vincent’s Hospital in 1903 as a 74-bed facility under the direction of the Sisters of Charity of New York. Located in Staten Island, New York, the hospital has been greatly expanded and modernized over the years and now is a 470 bed free-standing community hospital with specialty programs such as a Level-I Trauma Center, a designated Stroke Center and an outstanding Women’s and Children’s Care Services. There are residency programs in Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Podiatry, all accredited by the ACGME. The Department of Clinical Research serves as a central conduit, managing all of the scholastic activities of the institution.
