Stanford trained. Board certified anesthesiologist 1980. Pioneer of brain monitored propofol ketamine (aka 'Goldilocks') anesthesia. Solved postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) & postoperative pain in 1993. With the addition of real time bispectral (BIS) index brain monitoring, made those solutions NUMERICALLY REPRODUCIBLE. Multiple clinical papers subsequently cited in >160 papers and >50 anesthesia textbooks, including the most prestigious 'Miller's Anesthesia.' 2007 Cambridge University Press textbook 'Anesthesia in Cosmetic Surgery' also in Portuguese (2009) and Mandarin (2015). US Congressional Award recipient for helping develop a more mobile anesthesia for front line, non-penetrating wounds.
