Coleman is a retired senior official of the Drug Enforcement Administration and has been recognized in the U.S. as an expert on the regulation of controlled substances used in medical treatment, especially pharmaceutical opioids. As president of DrugWatch International, Inc., a nonprofit non-governmental organzation dedicated to reducing drug abuse through education, prevention, and treatment, Dr. Coleman has researched and written extensively on topics involving abusable drugs.
