Is a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist at Pacifica Salud Hospital and an Adjunct Faculty at Instituto de Investigaciones Científicas y Servicios de Alta Tecnología AIP.
She is also the Coordinator for the Medical Research Center Indicasat AIP-Pacifica Salud in Panama city, Panama.
Dr. Herrera completed her fellowship at Instituto Nacional de Perinatologia, Mexico City and a Clinical Research Diplomate at USF Health Panama. Dr. Herrera attends women for ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis and MFM consultation. She also cares for women on Labor and Delivery at the Antepartum Service at Pacifica Salud Hospital.
Dr. Herrera s research has focused on prenatal diagnosis implementation in Panama. Member of the National System of Science and Technology (Senacyt) Level 1 (2017-2021)
She is active at the organization of courses for colleagues about obstetric ultrasound and fetal medicine. She is a also a member of ACOG, SMFM, SPOG.
She is a scientific reviewer for different international Journals: BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, JBI evidence synthesis, Green Journal.
