Student Publishing Spotlight: Share Your Research Journey and Inspire Future Authors
Publishing as a medical student is a significant academic achievement, but for many aspiring authors, taking the first step toward publication can feel intimidating.
To help demystify the publication process, Cureus created the Student Publishing Spotlight, a new video series featuring medical students who have successfully published with the Cureus Journal of Medical Science. Through short video testimonials, student authors will share their experiences, lessons learned, and practical advice for peers considering their first publication.
The goal of this initiative is simple: to provide authentic, peer-to-peer insights that help future authors understand what publishing as a student actually looks like.
Participants are invited to discuss:
-
Their name, role, and institution
-
The article they published with Cureus
-
How they selected their topic and chose to submit to Cureus
-
One factor that contributed to their success as a student author, such as mentorship, preparation, peer-review feedback, or persistence
-
Why publishing early can be valuable for academic and professional development
Recording Guidelines:
-
Length: 1–2 minutes

Orientation: Horizontal (landscape)
-
