Carlos Darcy Alves Bersot is an anesthesiologist, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Campos (2002) and completed a Medical Residency in Anesthesiology at the Hospital Federal da Lagoa (Ministry of Health/RJ). He holds a Higher Degree in Anesthesiology (TSA / SBA) conferred by the Brazilian Society of Anesthesiology, of which he was an active member between 2003 and 2022. He worked as head of the Medical Residency Program in Anesthesiology at the CET-SBA of the Hospital Federal da Lagoa (2010-2023) and is currently co-head of the CET-SBA of the Hospital Santa Marcelina, in São Paulo. With consolidated experience in reference institutions, he was an anesthesiologist at the Pedro Ernesto University Hospital (UERJ) for over a decade (2009-2023), worked at the Hospital do Coração (HCor-SP) between 2022 and 2023 and is a member of the anesthesiology team at BP - A Beneficência Portuguesa de São Paulo. Former professor of Pharmacology and Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine of Campos, he has outstanding performance in teaching and research. He is a visiting professor in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) courses at Artmed/Porto Alegre and editor of specialized sections in Neuroanesthesia, with active participation in journals such as Frontiers in Anesthesiology and Perioperative Anesthesia Reports (SAESP). In scientific production, he is the author and technical reviewer of classic works in the area, as a contributor to the collection James Manica Anesthesiology and reviewer of the international work Millers Anesthesia. He works as an independent researcher, with no ties to industry, focusing on systematic reviews and meta-analyses, especially in the areas of neuroanesthesia, acute pain and applied pharmacology. He is currently a stricto sensu postgraduate student (doctorate) in Translational Medicine at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). He has more than 100 international indexed publications, with H-index 9 and more than 400 accumulated citations, according to data from Google Scholar.
