Shuvra Dasgupta is a graduate of University of the West Indies, where she did her MBBS degree. She went on to do graduate studies, with a DM in Emergency Medicine from UWI and a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University with a certification in Injury Control and Disaster Preparedness. She currently holds a Lecturer and Consultant post in Emergency Medicine at the University of the West Indies and University Hospital of the West Indies. She is also the Director of the Prehospital Emergency Medical Services (PHEMS) programme at UWI. She was the recipient of the Young Scientist Award in 2018-2019 given by the World Academy of Science – Caribbean Chapter . Her primary areas of research interest are Injury, EMS and Medical Education.
