Francisco M. Torres, M.D., is an interventional physiatrist and President/Medical Director of the FSI Wellness Program at Florida Spine Institute in Clearwater, Florida, where he has practiced since 1993. He is board-certified in both Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine, earned his M.D. from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, completed his residency at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System, and then completed a Pain Medicine fellowship at Louisiana State University. He also serves as a clinical educator at the Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine, bringing more than three decades of clinical experience to his teaching and practice. His research interests center on interventional spine care, regenerative orthobiologic therapies such as platelet-rich plasma, electrodiagnostic medicine, post-surgical musculoskeletal complications, and the physiology of aging, including immune senescence and longevity medicine. His peer-reviewed work has appeared in Pain Physician and Current Pain and Headache Reports, and he is the author of several books on fitness, nutrition, and the human dimensions of medicine, most recently Embracing Fitness as You Age (2025). A 2024–2026 Doximity Op-Med Fellow and Castle Connolly Top Doctor, he writes regularly for KevinMD and Doximity Op-Med on the ethical and psychological aspects of clinical practice.
