Professor Zyad Saeed is a dual-accredited Consultant in Critical Care and Emergency Medicine, and Chief of Critical Care at Mediclinic City Hospital, Dubai. He directs the hospital's Critical Care Support Unit and serves as a visiting Subject Matter Expert at the UAE National Centre for Organ Donation and Transplantation, where he contributes to the development of national protocols for both donation after brain death (DBD) and donation after circulatory death (DCD). He completed his medical training in the United Kingdom, achieving Certificate of Completion of Training in 2012, and worked as a consultant in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine in the UK before relocating to the UAE in 2016. Prior to his current role, he held consultant posts at Tawam Hospital and University Hospital Sharjah. Professor Saeed holds adjunct professorships at the University of Sharjah and Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, where he is academic lead for clinical students at Mediclinic City Hospital. He chairs the Mediclinic Middle East Corporate ICU Steering Committee as well as the Morbidity and Mortality Committee. His clinical and academic interests include organ donation and transplantation, mechanical ventilation, medical education, and the integration of artificial intelligence into critical care.
