There are different tools to evaluate nutritional status; however, the most widely used and adapted is the Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) Tool. Objectives: • Drawing a sample from elderly patients to evaluate their nutritional status retrospectively 3 months before their admission to KFSH & RC. • Aiming to link malnutrition with the coexistence of relevant diseases. • Aiming to increase awareness among elderly people and the youth about successful aging. Methods: The study was carried out on elderly patients. • 32 cases; >60 yrs old • At the in-patient wards in KFSH & RC, Riyadh SA • Data for patients was collected using a structured Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) Tool. Conclusion: The study confirms that there is coexistence between malnutrition and other diseases, and that malnutrition is a common problem among the elderly. However, due to the small sample size, and it was conducted in a hospital setting, this cannot be generalized nationally.
